Yes, very! I mean, when I said "I’m not sure what point that would serve," I meant that he could be the start of an alien invasion... But why bother adding that when you have a whole other country that can do the job for you.

True, and they seem to be doing a fine job of it themselves as it is!
They're still around, to a lesser extent! They're not really a united threat anymore or even really inherently a threat, but since their bodies are still passively hazardous, they tend to be solitary and rare.
