I never got to St. Pauli (as far as I'm aware) on my only visit to Hamburg in '97. I do recall a street of similar establishments not too far from the Hamburg HbF, most notable for the "bondage Ken and Barbii" doll display they had on one of the windows.
My rusty German managed to pick out "Admission free", but I had to resort to Google Translate for the rest ("Red Cat", "Topless", and "Dancer wanted").
