Very true. Given the varieties of genitalia on terrestrial creatures, anything alien could well be.... well, alien.

While not referring to the genitalia, but the muscle structure (the genitalia were just a slit), it's pretty true. Plants use derived leaves for it, octopi specialised arms, sharks and guppies modified fins...I would not wonder if there are aliens with their front legs being the male, the hind legs being the female reproductive organs.

No matter the strangeness of any alien anatomy we might find at some point in the future... you know there would be some freak who would want to either fuck it, or fap to it.

And actually as it happens when in an unaroused state, the male's penis-equivalent is internal. Females also.

Considering people screw/fap to anything that exists on this planet, doing it with anything from other planets isn't a big stretch.

I've written up quite a ...uh, comprehensive guide to Vanguard biology, physiology, culture and society, technology etc. Yes, I have no life.... but it has been useful for me when writing the novels that feature them. I took all sorts of cues from different critters with their design. Mating and birth physiology is *similar* to that of sharks - giving live birth to a single spawnling that is capable of looking after itself pretty much immediately. If twins are conceived, the strong usually cannibalizes the weaker in utero. Their junk being internal mostly like terrestrial reptiles. But the rest of it... the rest of it is pure sci-fi rubbish Manganese based blood instead of Iron, solid bones due to high-gravity evolution, 4 eyes giving full stereoscopic vision approximately 270 degrees which would be useful for a predator to gauge range.

You'd be about the only one I figured on a Manganese base for their blood chemistry due to the fact that Manganese has similar Oxygen bonding capabilities to Iron if you substitute it in haemoglobin, albeit taking more energy to separate the Oxygen once bonded. This in turn gives rise to a much higher body temperature, and also the black-colored blood I was after... means to an end.

Eyesight - capable of viewing slightly into both the infrared and ultraviolet, but sensitive to bright visible light having evolved on a planet with a thick atmosphere making it darker, but a sun that has a different spectrum than our own with more ultraviolet leaking through the clouds...

DO IT. The manganese properties were new to me and the eyes are pretty similar to a group of my exobiology project.

Haven't been commenting a lot, but have been following your exobiology project quite closely - it is what made me start watching you in the first place way back when on DA. What is the purpose of this project? Just for your own interest or is there something larger in the works?

It's just personal stuff, but is also a good exercise in biology.

Speculative biology - some wonderful thought experiments into what-ifs and different forms that could fill all sorts of equivalent ecological niches. You obviously put a lot of thought into these.

I have rather lax policies about my stuff, anyway. As long as you don't make money off it or claim is at your own, you can do with it whatever you want. Stuff that has other policies (commissions and stuff in publications) won't get uploaded on the internet anyway.

Given that I can murder even stick-figures, I think people would become suspicious if I suddenly started posting up proper artwork and claiming it as my own But your policies are eminently reasonable. Have you had some of your work published in proper publications?

BTW, I had a sick "vision" for one of your minions picture dumps. Two minions on top of a bloated cow (or other animal) corpse, floating down a river, punting along Venice canal-boat style, one seranading the other all romantic like. After all, it was valentines day recently...

Also, a minion being carted around on a litter by gnomes, Roman Emperor style, eating (or being fed) peeled grapes... or peeled chicken carcasses or something, I dunno. WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME, DAMMIT?!

Yes, a very simple diagram in a book.
The carcass one won't work because of the limited space of a bill, but the Roman style one is perfect, considering the setting.
