OMG! Before we moved over here to Eeeeeewrope, we had an aquarium with various tropical fish, including one of these. Unfortunately the stupid thing decided that it was going to follow the "stream" to its source and got up inside the filter where it hit the impeller and injured itself badly, later dying.
We also had another small, speckled catfish that had 4 longish whiskers on the front... every morning I would get some frozen blood-worms to feed the fishies, and this one would come right up and nibble them right out of my fingers... such fond memories.
Quite wonderful, Sir.

Usually, filters should have something covering their openings to prevent exactly that. Or the fry gets inside and lives there...always fun to remove them when cleaning the filter. Luckily, the slits in the new filter are too small for them.
The speckled one, was that a Callichtys?

It was a cheap one before we upgraded our tank and had the outlet set not far above the surface of the water. The one we got later was more proof against anything getting inside it via the outlet and had a completely different filtering mechanism that would have prevented that.
Damn you are good... http://www.ikola.dk/images/Callicht.....lichthys-3.jpg <- that is it. Snuffling away at the small frozen chunk of bloodworms in my fingers as I gently wafted it in the water. It is the small things in life, y'know? Would always send me off to work each morning with a smile on my face.
We also had a somewhat over-fed plecostomus amongst the others... too much of the good-life, it didn't do a very good job of keeping the algae down the lazy lump. Ended up being almost as big as my forearm.
