Queen Bazezzez is a character from another story I wrote, "The Prisoner of Time," in which she aids Prince Ivan and Bulat the Werewolf in shearing the carnivorous sheep of Baba Yaga in order to win a Champion Horse for Ivan so he can rescue Princess Vasilisa from Kazhi the Deathless.

I've been imagining how it would look for a swarm of bees to coalesce into a humanoid form for years, as the bees pour themselves into a 3D shape. Of course now it's being done with lighted drones making huge illuminated figures in the air. But cartoonists have been mustering bees into shapes for decades.
Ironically, just as I was starting this, I got stung on the finger by a honeybee I'd rescued from my dogs' water dish. Little ingrate. My finger swelled up and made drawing pretty difficult for several days.

Much easier on the mind than a comic (Mice Templar) where there was a sentient swarm of red ants that would wear the skins of their victims. That was disturbing.
I could see a swarm of bees or termites becoming a hive mind. They might end up working like a computer, the comb being a memory bank, the drones as bits. Nah, it would work through pheromones like that Bruce Sterling story The Swarm.

I hosted a Queen Bee and her swarm 3 plus years ago https://www.furaffinity.net/view/36255073/ They spent most of a week near my mailbox - mail carrier wasn't very happy about that. They moved on to my relief. Did get to see the queen a few times when the swarm was off feeding and scouting - always a few guards around her.
