with the two breeds being so different in size and the border collies being famous for bad hip problems i would think this poor pup is going to have a painful life :( its bad news to mix big and little :( good luck and hope you have a good savings put away, i have a feeling this little guy is going to need a lot of vet care.
not to sound mean in anyway but a proven fact, pure breed dogs have MORE health issues than ANY mutt this world has, you have a pure AKC German Shepherd they have hip issue's ALL the time and if you get a Shep mix MOSTLIKELLY those hip issues wont be there, mutts are ALWAYS more healthy than any PURE dog I've met. Im not saying pures arnt healthy couse they are im just saying you will spend MORE money on vet bills on a pure rather than a mix.
oh wow @.@ thats alot haha. Yeah there are some mix's that do cost money but the variety of the dogs are healthier as a mix rather than a pure, I have a pure border and thankfully has no issue's and I have a German Shepherd mix that will never get a hip prob couse her legs dont slouch like a pure one does haha. But im sure Anelle will be a perfect, healthy breed, as long as she is being taken care of right she shouldnt have any problems.
*nods* i have had neo sense he was 6 weeks old and the IBS was a issue from the start x,x the hip thing was from when he sliped on wet tile at 2 years old and landed hard on his hip and dislocated it some how (even the vet was commenting on how talented he was for doing it LOL) which cause slight arthritis but thats been taken care of thankfully so thats no longer a issue. a big chunkc of the money 3000 of it was spent on him in the first 2 years of his life saving his butt, when i first adopted him i didnt know he had worms three days later i did and took him to the vet the xray showed worms in his tummy and intestines and they were so bad he litterly lost 15 pounds of waight that was all worm mass in his innerds x.x which is why he now has serious IBS and i have to be super careful on what he eats x.x people ask me why did i do it, i just tell them why not? and then walk away quickly before i get a dumb redneck answer about how depsoable dogs are x.x
I've worked at two vets offices, grooming salons and currently work at my local humane society as co-captain of the dog barn. I've seen a lab chihuahua mix, that was perfectly healthy at the age of ten and a beagle lab mix that was eight and still acted like a pup. We can't trace back 30 years and there is no need to go that far back, but we can go back too the parents of the puppies and their grandparents because we know both parents and who those dogs came from. The pups had a healthy normal beginning with no complications for the first six weeks and they have been given great care and great people have each one of the pups in which we can still see the puppies as they grow. They'll grow up healthy and stay healthy. The more you think it'll end bad, the more chance there is that it will end bad. I'm very superstitious and I think that thinking about bad luck brings it. So don't think so badly about these puppies future because I believe their future will be bright and they will be spoiled and well cared for.
