He was INTENDED to have a tail. You just couldn't see it from this angle. Gaby made sure to make it visible in her version, along with his "cutie mark". (I'd originally though of it including a clock face. But, Gaby went with the hourglass/feather combo. Definitely looks better than what I was thinking.) ;)
Anywho, yes, even 7 years ago, I was a Brony. >_<
