At Anthrocon last year, a cheetah in an agbada came up to me after my program on hyenas to tell me how much he enjoyed my comic strip. I was flattered that he took the time to talk to me, but I was even more astonished by how realistic the costume was--it had a moving jaw set and I felt like I was talking to a genuine anthropomorphic cheetah. He had an amazing, regal presence. I was so impressed that I asked him if I could give his character a cameo in the comic. He graciously agreed.
It's taken me a little over a year to get to it, but here is Etotono. The character is a veterinarian who works as a park ranger, and his alternate outfit is a military-type uniform, so I made him an Army surgeon from Roarwanda. The agbada he was wearing when we met is a genuine antique.
