The Maroon-Horned Forest Wyvern is a ground-dwelling, herbivorous wyvern native to the northern forests of Shangrila. Males possess a pair of long, vibrant horns and bright, fiery fins on their heads which serve as a display structure for attracting mates. Females have a much more dull coloration. The more vibrant the male's display structures, the better the chances of attracting a mate.

Maroon-Horned Forest Wyverns are one of the bigger herbivorous species that live in dense forested areas. They eat a variety of plants and serve as one of the most important seed dispersers in their ecosystem, as they love fruit and eat them in vast amounts. Thanks to their long legs, they can cover a lot of ground in one day, thus spreading the tree seeds far and wide.
