A couple days after her major eating spree out on the shore, Lani was approached by a couple of pirates who wanted to ask if she would be interested in doing a little dirty work for them in exchange for a good sum of treasure. At the mention of treasure, Lani not only starting thinking of all the things she could buy, but her stomach growled loudly in anticipation for an excellent feast she could get!
On the day of the plan, the pirates checked over the sea and found it: the ship of their rival pirate gang.
With everything looking just as planned, they started waddling the wobbling Lapras over to... the cannon.
Here's that sequence with Lani that I promised all the way back in March. To be quite honest, I don't feel too proud about this one... mainly because of the backgrounds. I think I was too concerned with the shadows casted by things and was thinking too hard about where my light source was coming from. I think it ended up working against me, as I'm not great at doing accurate lighting and shading just yet. Texture was another thing - trying to replicate the look of wood in this style was pretty difficult.
At least I can say that the ocean looks pretty nice, at least to me.
I kind of ended up rushing this one out this weekend just so I could be finished with it.
More importantly, I wanted to get it finished because I'm hoping to do a little something-something for Twitter, considering I just passed 100 followers!!
That being said, I hope you enjoy this short little comic!
