Miwa Uzuki was one of the protagonist and the female companion of Hiroshi Shiba in Go Nagai's Kotetsu Jeeg (or Steel Jeeg). In the Jeeg IP, Miwa (often refer to as Micchi) is the pilot of the Big Shooter, the aircraft that carries the Jeeg Parts when Hiroshi calls for; she was the Assistant of Prof assistant Shiba (Hiroshi's father) until his death and becomes the assistant to Prof. Dairi when he took charge of the Build Base.

Miwa is herself orphan by circumstances; her mother left her family when she was too young, and her father died many years later, in the end she is adopted by the Shiba's from which she met Hiroshi. The association with the family is such that Hiroshi's little sister, Mayumi, views her as an elder Sister and a role model along her older brother, as well has sort of mother/daughter relation to Kikue, Hiroshi's mother. She was also aware Hiroshi's body held possession of the Jamatai Bell, a mystical object that Queen Himika seeks, and is the power behind Hiroshi's own abilities.

In the Manga, since the two are the main heroes, they often show not much conflict and work together well: the Anime diverts severely from this, where Hiroshi is more arrogant (standard mc troupe of this shows of the period), ignoring calls and responsibilities as the Hero Jeeg – though due to the pressure and burden it carries – and Miwa often serves as the moral balance to his Arrogance. It is also imply from time to time, the two hold emotions for the other.

Miwa has a strong resemblance to Miyazu, the late wife of Takeru, a General in Himika's Army from the distance past who becomes smitten by the girl's resemblance to his wife.

Depending on the plot of the Villains every given week, Miwa can at times be the target for assassination, as removing the pilot of the Big Shooter would prevent the assembling of the Jeeg.

In Kotetsushin Jeeg, which diverts from the events of the old anime, Miwa was shutdown by Himika during the final battle, crashing outside Kyshyu before the zone was erected; in the elapsing 50 years since, she married and had a child, who in turn would grow, marry and have a daughter _ Tsubaki Tamashiro _ and is now Co-Pilot of the Big Shooter, providing parts for the new Shin Jeeg and his pilot, Kenji Kusanagi. Now Miwa Tamashiro is the current Commander of the New Build Base as Himika makes her presence know to the world once more.

In the original Kotetsu Jeeg Anime, Miwa was voiced by Rihoko Yoshida, who also voice Megu-Chan in Majokko Megu-chan; Michirui Saotome in Getter Robo; Klara Sessman in Heidi Girl of the Alps; Maria Grace Freed in UFO Robot Grendizer; Kuruma in Urusei Yatsura; and Monsley in Future Boy Conan.

For the Elder Miwa in Kotetsushin Jeeg, she is voice by Mako Hyōdō.

Fun Fact: Miwa was intended to be the 10th and final girl in the first batch, put I wasn't please with the way her angles came out, so change it to Flora Fauna.
