"Really, I should have seen it from the start. The approach was far too exposed for what was supposed to be just a simple snooping mission. Sure enough, all it took was for one ugly face to swing my way once too often for their four eyes to notice a peculiarly turian-shaped silhouette peering around a corner. The smell of slugs ionising the air as they ripped past at relativistic speeds was as sharp as the omniblades flicking from their wrists. My cover was blown, and if I didn't act quickly my blue matter would be too...
"There was no time for fancy tricks or clever strategies, not unless you could think as fast as a salarian. Instinct and training took over as I pulled out my trusty Carnifex and pointed it toward the nearest shape barrelling my way, some especially ugly looking batarian with a shotgun I by no means wished to be introduced to. I squeezed the trigger and braced for the recoil. My cybernetic arm absorbed it easily, the shot steady as a fifth opening was made in his skull.
"One less problem."
