'Cause of his superiority complex, seeing himself as the apex predator of Night Raven College, Tock seems basically fearless: common phobias, as well as more strange and unusual fears, don't touch him. Spiders? No big deal. The possibility to perish? He laughs in front of it.
But even like this, there is something that can shake him from the deepest depths of his mind: Mozus Trein, NRC's history teacher.
The old man is who took Tock to the school, who taught him how to read and write, who made Tock learn how to control his magic; he's basically the father the crocodile boy never had, and the sole idea of disappointing him is what Tock fears the most.
And knowing this, obviously, Trein pushes Tock into the right direction and out of trouble... even if that means to terrorize the native of Neverland.
