Welcome to the first day of Insectember! We start with a funny little guy known as the polka dotted clown weevil [Pachyrrhynchus orbifer]! Like most every weevil, these guys are herbivorous and burrow into plants to live in while also eating them from the inside. Polka dotted clown weevils have aposematic colouring to deter predators, which is why they look so colourful. Most members of this family of weevil- Pachyrrhynchus- are native to Southeast Asia! Hope you enjoy! Stay tuned for Day 02!
