No name yet... I haven't picked one out quite yet.
But he's a blue heeler, or Australian Cattle Dog. Both are pretty much the same dog. Beautiful dogs! Angel was one. You can see her in my other pictures.
Anyways, at first he was really snippy. Would not let me anywhere near him. The guy I got him from asked me if I still wanted it. "Are you sure?"
Yup! I've wanted a blue heeler since I had to get rid of Angel. They are the best dogs I've ever owned, aside from Casey. He opened up quickly after getting him home. After trying to run away last night, biting the crap out of my arm, making my knuckle bleed... He doesn't like to be picked up. And I had to cuz he got out of his collar. But, after batting at his nose, showing him I'm not gonna take it, he calmed down A LOT. No problems since. He plays fetch! One of the best things about him. Plus he's adorable! I love the heelers' marking's.

Cattle Dog! That's the words I was looking for. Couldn't think of it, and shepherd came to mind some reason... The shepherds are more of a long haired, and bigger. Soon as I saw Cattle Dog, I was like OH YEAH!
But heelers and Australian Cattle Dogs are the same dog. :)

He was trying to test you, to see if you were worthy of being his alpha, and you passed too. I had a Blue Heeler/Collie mix, very smart dog, but hard to train and discipline. That was mainly due to my brother letting him have his way. I could never housebreak him because my brother refused to let me crate train him.
Everytime I would put the dog in the crate, he would start yelping really loudly. My brother wouldn't have any of that. At the time he was a puppy and couldn't be put outside just yet. My brother didn't even clean up his messes in the house, especially in my room because he figured it wasn't his dog, so why should he clean up after him.
I was trying to have a second dog as a companion to my first dog, but that failed rather miserably. I gave the puppy to someone at work who later gave the dog to his dad. His dad has something like 80 acres, so he's in a better place.

Oh, and the puppy I had (I had him for about four months), would sort of kind of play fetch. I can't even get my Husky to do that.
He also had a thing about attacking my dog's face while playing. Not sure why he did that. He also tried to do the same with me one Saturday morning when I was in bed, I saw him trying to run up to my face, and I tried to push him away. Instead, I wind up pushing so hard, he flew off the bed about four feet away. He didn't try to do that to me after that. This was when he was about two months old.
