99.9% of jobs in the USA do not ask for CVs. If you are applying into one of the few industries which require CVs, ask others in that industry for guidance. Usually, those reviewing CVs are looking for specific information among all that detail.

USA uses the term "resume." This is a one to two page document (8.5in x 11in page, front and back) which lists our work experience and other relevant information. The resume is a big deal in the USA system because it is used for initial screening and there is no guidance as to its format and countenance. By comparison, the EU has a standard form which must industries use.
