Number 11 for my Ladies of Arda Portfolio (info can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1980006/ ) This is Rosie Cotton, a Hobbit maid of the Shire, played by Kaylee, as commissioned by
.
Rose Cotton was born in the year 1384 by Shire Reckoning, the second child and first daughter of Tolman Cotton and Lily Brown. The Cotton family lived in a farm on the South Lane, which was fairly close to Bywater. Not much of her youth is known, except that she and her brothers frequently swam in the Bywater Pool with the children of the Gamgee family, to which the Cottons were close. Rosie was still fond of Sam when both grew to adulthood, and when he announced he'd be going with Frodo Baggins to Crickhollow, she did not like it. Even though everyone had given up hope of seeing Sam - or any of the other Hobbits - back, she waited patiently.Rose and Sam Gamgee were married on May 1, 3020 when Sam returned home after the War of the Ring. Sam and Rosie had thirteen children, many of whom were named after Sam and Rosie's friends and relatives.
If you'd like to get your female fursona or character into the portfolio, details can be found in this journal: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1980006/

This turned out really precious! I think you captured something of the movie Rosie Cotton in Kaylee's expression <:. The tiny details are what really make this piece endearing, the weaves of strawberry and tenderly planted flowers really do speak of a simple but bright heart that brings love to everything she touches. Kaylee is such a precious character that both Bagheera and I lovingly share and guard, it is wonderful at last to see her spring to life in color. I am certain if she were to see this there would be no end to the tail wags and excited yips! Thank you so much for making her a part of this esteemed project, she would be beyond flattered and honored to be made part of the lore of Middle-earth. I am looking forward so much to seeing this in person and giving it a special mat and frame treatment. We will try to send ya photos when we do as I know I have a nerdy desire to see my own work all framed up proper like <:. I promise she won't go into a dark closed portfolio. We will give her a sunny place of honor in our home.
<3!!!!!

"Precious" indeed! And now the preciousssssssss can be oursssssssssss! :D
This is truly adorable in every sense - I love the sheepish but slightly coy look in her eyes, all the beautiful flowers that surround her, and meeeegosh the STRAWBERRIES! xD Kaylee is in puppy heaven right now rolling in strawberries. :)
I can't wait to see this piece in person and have it properly framed and hung on our wall. ^_^ Thank you for doing such a wonderful job on our piece, Luthien!

Thank you so much, I knew she was special to you guys and guessed that you might not have any color work of her yet, so I wanted to make this one really good. :3 I also had fun with all those flowers and I'm a bit of a strawberry nut myself, so of course those were a delight to throw in there (though it made me crave strawberries like crazy! lol) I can tell you its going to look a LOT better in person, my scanner tends to fade colors a bit, something I'm sure you guys are aware of, and I'm sure it'll look fantastic framed. :) Thanks again for participating in this portfolio, it means a lot to me since the LOTR world is so close to my heart and I love being able to capture a bit of it in my art. <3
Yep I've got it written down in my notebook, everythings all taken care of. :) I won't be shipping these until all the pieces are finished though, since I have to go make the actual books first. You'll be getting the original art as well as a copy of the portfolio.
