Those, who were lucky enough to survive an encounter with Astrea for themselves, told stories and legends about the creature that moved the guiding star across the sky, throwing sailors and travelers far from home off course, as if playing with them:
"...that night it was business as usual, we were heading into port to unload our catch and finally get some rest.
I looked up at the sky but did not see a shining polar star: "cloudy today" - I thought, reassuring myself that it was not the first time we had traveled this way: "we won't get lost !"
That's when it all started...
something bright in the sky caught my eye, bright enough to be considered a polar star... but strangely, in my memory, it should have been in a different place from where it was now....
We consulted with the crew, changed course, oriented to the luminary and continued on our way.
A few minutes later, I decided to look at the star again, but to my surprise, I didn't find it in the same place... this time it wasn't even the clouds, it had literally disappeared.
I began to look at the sky and the stars, looking for that one, and my eye was really attracted again by a bright luminary, standing out among the others... I called my companions to show it to them, but as soon as I gathered my thoughts, the star disappeared again....
I started to look at the sky chaotically again, looking for where it had moved to this time, but my search was interrupted by something... suddenly the ship shook violently, as if something huge had pushed it... a silhouette caught my eye, I looked up to the mast and saw Her there....
For a few moments, the huge winged beast looked down silently, while my heart seemed about to fall silent forever. the next moment, a shrill roar came from its luminous mouth...
The rest of it was a blur.
I don't remember how I got out of there alive, but unlike my comrades, I think I was lucky..."
After several similar stories by experienced sailors and missing ships, whose wrecks were soon found piled up on the shore, people thought: it can't be a common tale, it can't be a storm that leaves claw and fang marks on a wrecked ships.
The people believed that in their lands really dwelt a creature, at its whim destroying ships and taking the lives of sailors.
They called her Astrea - the one who controls the stars. —
I don't usually tell anyone much about my characters, so I hope you enjoy reading this :з
Also, if you want, feel free to point out my mistakes, since English is not my native language I will be glad to learn something to help me develop it !
