Remy returned home from Las Vegas just in time for his birthday.

His parents threw him a party and invited all his friends.

On Saturday, the party started. First Kyle showed up, then Bradley, Richard, Scott and Stephanie.

Each one brought him a gift. They were placed on the kitchen table.

Remy was sometimes nervous at parties. Being surrounded by so many people was overwhelming for him.

But he was still happy to have his friends over.

Once everyone had arrived, it was time to serve cake.

Remy hoped everyone wouldn't sing to him too loudly. It bothered him when they sang too loud.

Remy's mother carried the lit cake in, and his father snapped some pictures.

Everyone sang 'Happy Birthday' to Remy in a loud chorus.

It was painful for him to sit through, but Remy got over his discomfort and blew out the candles with a smile.

Then the cake was served. Pineapple cake with lemon frosting. It was his favorite.

After cake, it was time for Remy to open presents. He thanked his friends for the gifts and for coming to his party.

It had been a great day for Remy. And a very fulfilling year for him.

He went to many different places and had some adventures with his friends and family. Now he was a year older.

But summer wasn't over yet. There was still time left to enjoy it before school started.
