A gift/request for my owner
tailslover13. It seems he caught me while out looking for dinner and put me in the cauldron. To his surprise, I went to the far end and relaxed, a content look crossing my face. I was really enjoying this Hot Tub *giggle*
This sketch took me a whooping 2 hours and 40 minutes. I did the cauldron and the grass easy, and the spoon too. The problems arose when I tried to draw the Meowth (Josh) In this picture. First I couldn't get the ears right, then the whiskers were off, then the coin was too small... It kept going and going. Then, after I was FINALLY happy with my work on his face, I decided to work on the facial features. Of course, Meowth do not have noses so that was easy. I did the maw first, because I had found a good reference from the manga. I was pleased at first, and started to try to work on the eyes. More problems arose when not only did the eyes seem off, the "irises" were not looking right. While I messed with this, I noticed the mouth was messed up and preceeded to fix it the best I knew how. then I erased both eyes and tried several more times before giving up. I then proceeded to work on Eevee (Me). The going was good, but the first head was too small. So, I started over and tried again. After finally getting the facial features right, I went to the ears. I drew them over and over, then realized I needed to make the head bigger. I did so and then tried a few more times before just making them longer. Then, when I tried to do the shading for the inner ears contrasted from the outer ears, I noticed Josh's were too small too. So I erased most of the dark and left just the little bit behind.
The erasing and redrawing was done so many times that you can see a lot of the residue around his right eyes and his mouth. I had to darken that side to make up for the residue.
I started at 10:15 P.M.ish Central Standard Time on March 2nd, 2011 and ended at 12:40 P.M.ish CST on March 3rd, 2011. The date is in the corner because I lack a scanner and used a camera instead.
Once again, this is not a picture that is great by any means, it was just practice for my artistic abilities. If you like it, tell me so. Also tell me if I need improvement. This was a gift/request for Josh. I REALLY hope he likes this a lot, because I did it for him! I asked him if he wanted anything special, and he requested I do this! I thought it was funny so I did! P.S. he is standing on the outside and I am in the cauldron. It's hard to tell but that's how it is.
