In 1998 there was a store called "The Knucklehead Store" in California. Robert Hill had mentioned visiting it, they sold nothing but 3 Stooges merchandise. He'd been talking to the owners and had ended up being hired to be one of their "Moe" impersonators for their upcoming convention. Since it was taking place on the week I'd be visiting him, he asked if I'd mind attending (free of course including a hotel room.)
The con was just okay, mainly because the dealers room only displayed sellers of official merchandise.
It was a project of Comedy III which was all the relatives of the Stooges uniting to try to make some cash from their famous relatives. But there was a great display of Stooge memorabilia, a room playing Stooge shorts on the big screen, and a pie fight room, where 3 of the stooges would play waiters to 6 paying customers.
Main thing was the interesting celebs who came by.
First off, it turned out Comedy III's lawyer was Bela Lugosi Jr, who was a dead ringer for his dad,
Stopping by and telling some jokes were Gary Owens, Jonathan Withers, and Jack Riley.
Biggest surprise was seeing a group of kids with a guy dressed almost like The Elephant Man, completely covered and masked.
I asked Robert about this and he said he got to meet him backstage, it was Michael Jackson!
