I’ve been binging some of my favorite animated shows and, unsurprisingly, it has lead to me making a fandom OC. Ben 10 has been my favorite show for a long time. From the fight scenes to the aliens, which I always looked forward to seeing. As such, I have a list of my favorite aliens, but my number one favorite is and always will be XLR8. He already reminded me of a xenomorph, and the fact he’s a alien velociraptor with super speed was just icing on the cake. Even his voice was incredibly cool with the fact it’s really raspy with a buzzing sound behind it really sends home just how much I love his character. So naturally I had to make a Kineceleran character to satisfy the brainrot.

Meet Whiplash, a young Kineceleran who fled from Kinet to Earth in search of adventure. When designing Whiplash, my biggest worry was that I wouldn’t capture the angulated raptor posture. It took a couple attempts, but I was able to successfully draw him the way I wanted. I had to most fun with his legs/feet, which I was initially tentative about translating into my style. For my first time drawing a character like this, I’m very proud of how this turned out.

Personality
Whiplash is a very ambitious, headstrong, and slightly hardheaded Kineceleran. He loves to show off just as much as he likes to compete, always seeking to improve himself in some way. He can come off as bit obnoxious and jerk-ish, but more so in an ”older brother” sense than truly mean-spirited. And despite his rather competitive and boastful nature, he believes in good sportsmanship and respect, even when he’s the one that loses. When around people he considers friends or family, he can still be a bit rambunctious, but to a lesser degree. He’s incredibly protective of those he loves and would do anything to keep them safe.

Misc Info
• Not great at picking up a lot of things. Either because he can’t properly grab and hold items or because his claws puncture just about anything. Great for slashing though.

• Under absolutely no circumstances should he ever, EVER, have caffeine. Never. He’s an absolute crack head when he drinks the stuff and the only thing he can do is get rid of all the extra energy. In which case, he’ll suffer a very hard crash and be out for at least a couple days.

• There’s always a strange, but subtle, clicking or warble-like buzzing sound whenever Whiplash speaks. Unless you really pay attention and listen for it, it’s not very noticeable.

• When he isn’t doing anything with his arms, they sit in an idle t-rex position which can make his already slanted posture look far more dinosaur-like.

• Occasionally works “feral” noises into his sentences. Usually hissing or clicking.

• Has tried multiple times to run on ice, but always ends up looking like Bambi and needing to crawl off whatever frozen body of water he flopped on.
