,,ZVS, the Prague subway opened in 1974. It wasn't bad at all, but overpriced, the technical obsolescence of the originally Soviet units hindered it a bit from taking off. However, when the M1 units from Siemens arrived on line C at the turn of the millennium, I think the subway really started to use its potential.
The whole concept of the new units brought a fresh western wind, which brought more comfort, reliability and a more pleasing design.
And it's very good, because the subway is not only about getting passengers from point A to point B. It's also about reliability, comfort and a certain symbolism. The subway represents Prague itself, our capital and largest city, and therefore every citizen should be more interested in it!
