Another one of my characters, this time, a more robotic Bionid. One of the three sisters.
Name: ZX-01, nicknamed Dial-Up by the Bionid Research Institute staff
Race: Techa
Gender: female
Creation date: April 10th, 2090.
Place of origin: U.N.A. Robotics Institute, Atlanta
Height: 5' 8''
Weight:----
Stationed in: Bionid Research Institute, located outside Neo Los Angeles.
Specialisation: Hacking into protected networks, establishing backup connection in case of the base being shut off by force, programming.
Combat experience: none
Dial-Up is a Techa, biomechanical Bionid developed for assistance during more difficult operations that require breaking into protected files or networks, and in case some outside force or unfortunate event causes the base's network to shut down, she is to find another alternative way to re-establish connection. While most other Bionids and Techas have more or less normal limbs, she does not posess any visible arms. Instead, they are replaced with two transmitters, each equipped with three hovering manipulators which serve as her hands. This way she can multi-task and perform operations in a much faster and more efficient pace. Each manipulator can reach up to 6 meters away from the body, before the connection between them and the transmitters begins to weaken. Any kind of damage caused to these manipulators manifests as pain in Dial-Up's case. However, damaged or destroyed manipulator can be quickly and easily replaced with a new one.
Dial-Up is, despite being the eldest of the three Techa sisters, the most optimistic and laid-back personality wise. Prone to joking, and always encourages her colleagues, trying to raise their spirits in difficult moments. She sometimes uses her abilities to illegally download movies or her favorite soap-operas, or to simply cause a small ruckus on a computer of some random imageboard troll, much to chagrin of her superior, who still turns a blind eye to her shenanigans.
Techas are, as mentioned, more robotic cousins of Bionids. While Bionids are organic beings with some traits of machines, Techas are partially mechanical beings, equipped with high-tech components and enhanced abilities. Even like this, they are able to breed with Bionids, or their own kind. Aside from mechanical components or even limbs, other traits that distinguish them from Bionids are:
-cross-shaped lines on "lenses" in their eyes.
-some units have limbs detached from their bodies (like in Dial-Up's case).
-unlike Bionids, Techas are not immune to computer viruses
-their voice has a more electronical echo to it.
-cellular scan (used to distinguish machines from organics) shows only certain portion of their bodies, depending on which parts are mechanical.
