Blame it on two people.

One was Spiritto, for this bit of fan art http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5201369/ which made me curious enough to concider checking it out.

Two was Aaron Williams, creator of the comic series "Nodwick" http://nodwick.humor.gamespy.com/index.htm who in his February 14 livejournal mentions how the MLP fandom has seized a no-name background pony with googly eyes, with both hands (or is that hooves?) and named her Derpy Hooves http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Derpy_Hooves

This pretty much convinced me I should take a look at ther series.

While is is fairly saccharine there is some quality I can't quite put my finger on that makes it interesting. It's like knowing junk food is bad for you but you can't quite stop yourself from eating that next hand full of Cheese Doodles.

Anyways, with the help of a template I found somewhere (If you recognise this pose please let me know who's page I found it on) and some coloring on Thorne's part I have one of my alter egos in Pony Form.
