A fun one to draw! I experimented with a few different things in this picture. I brought back the use of multiple pencils (instead of just the 0.7mm HB mechanical pencil), utilizing the 0.5mm one as well. The latter is excellent for subtle touches and base values (especially when layered with multiple strokes), and the former is great for setting in the texture and contrast. Secondarily, my colored pencil class and experimentation prompted me to steady my hand, give even amounts of pressure, and be more gentle with layering. Finally, I gave "cheating" character outlines a try via erasing parts of the backgrounds. That's a very stylistic effect that I'm afraid of slipping into (instead of learning how to separate background values from foreground ones like I should).
