Well, I'm back from my vacation and it's time to upload something (might do a double or triple feature today... I'll see how it plays out)

The Nocturachnis is a massive spider native to the underground ecosystem. It resides in the darkest corridors that connect caverns suitable for life to thrive. When larger creatures (such as Gruntlings) attempt to pass through from one cave system to another, they run a risk of stepping into the web of Nocturachnis. Once stuck in the web, the prey is then approached by the spider and injected with an acidic venom that dissolves soft tissues within the body, causing catastrophic hemorrhaging to occur and death by blood loss.
Fortunately for travelers, the Nocturachnis only seems to attack creatures that have already been caught and restrained by its webbing; while it could attack unrestrained prey, it either doesn't want to risk injury or lose too much energy when procuring a meal.
