Ah, it's modeled after the Knights of the Ebon Blade logo, which is the organization of Death Knights rebelling against the Lich King. Its supposed to Resemble a Rune Blade, the traditional weapon of Death Knights.
Also, when referring to the rear end, "Rump" is acceptable. As for the logo, the actual preferred terminology is "Cutie Mark."
