Sully built a robot buddy!
The "Sullynoid" was meant to help him around the workshop. It wasn't terribly impressive. Its first iteration could mostly totter about and ask do you want to play a game?
But after the incident with the Christmas decorations—and Emmet catching his assistant pilfering his equipment one too many times—the thought entered the wombat's head to provide Sully's creation with some complimentary "upgrades."
Now, Sully may seem to sleep in the lab more often than not, but he does have his own tiny little apartment somewhere in town. Emmet, of course, knew his employee's address, and had in mind the perfect sort of prank to pull on a ferret who likes sci-fi and horror B-movies just a bit too much for his own good...
(What sort of stuffed animal is that that Sully sleeps with? It looks a little odd. Oh well, I'm sure it can't be significant given everything else that's going on.)
