[NMA] Pool-bottom sleep

The pool held a bit of a strange sight tonight; Lugia, laying on its bottom, fast asleep. While he had no way of breathing underwater, he could hold his breath long enough for a submerged sleep. Eventually, he began to grow restless, as even his powerful lungs could only work off the same breath for so long. The increasing discomfort of his need to breathe eventually awoke him, and he puffed his cheeks.
Lugia didn't feel like getting up to go breathe, so he blew a cloud of bubbles to relax his lungs and closed his eyes again in an attempt to get back to sleep. With 20 minutes of tossing and turning, heaves of his chest, and soon, burning of his lungs, it was clear he wouldn't be sleeping again without a fresh breath. Somewhat frustrated, he got up and began to swim, bubbling some more as he did, though this time caused by discomfort rather than a desire to stay down longer.
With just a couple strokes of his massive wings, Lugia surfaced and gasped for the first time in hours, catching his breath at last. Only now did it occur to him that it was morning, the deep water having partly blocked the sunlight. He smiled as he thought about the fact that he'd spent an entire night underwater on a single lungful of air, and climbed out of the pool to start his day.
