It's the conclusion to this image:

Reptu may have lost, but at least he has Impax.
Ombro was quite the competitor and Impax witnessed the back half of the game. Finally the move Qh2, it was over for this cyan dragon. But there's hope, because this won't be the last chess game for Reptu.
It's a weird, funny thing that I have where the character I like more: that's the character I like to see lose. It's because I like to see how they handle losing, and how they can get the strength to carry on, and maybe receive some comfort, like in this comic. I think seeing some anthro animals lose gets me emotionally, and it's that sadness that shows me how important they are to me; it's that feeling I like in a strange sense.
----
And for me IRL, I can take losing a little hard on online chess. Out of all kinds of games, it sincerely sucks to lose at chess because there is no luck involved. How ever you lost the game was in your control. It really is the reason why I love the game. With that being said, my emotions towards losing shows how important the game is for me. It's one of a kind in terms of strategy and demonstrating your smarts
I've gotten better at losing over time. It can be hard to find something positive in losing. But if I do lose, at least I can say that I add value to the game by challenging the opponent, making it fun for them, or demonstrating some cool, unique knowledge of the game, even if it didn't lead me to victory. Trying to make light of losing is why I had Impax give something a little positive to Reptu in the end.

I guess this may the first comic you’ve ever made. I have also noticed how Reptu and Impax look shocked at the first panel of the comic and how Impax feels bad for Reptu when he is about to cry as he shakes Ombro’s hand acknowledging his defeat in the third panel. Good facial expressions you made in the comic there.
Yeah, you're right, for the most part. Admittedly, I've done very small traditional comics in the past, but this is truly is the first offical try where it's digital and features my current characters from 2019+. It's pretty cool to try out some comics. However, I can say It's pretty difficult to make sure what you're communicating is presented well.
Hey, thanks. Glad you like the facial expressions, and that you understood the story. I tried to make it a little special with the expressions, so that means a lot.

I used to do chess tournaments when i was 12 back in 2009. I remember won two trophy;however, my interest was shifted in years later. It was heroclix in 2011-2013 and magic the gathering 2013-2020. Time sure change. You can always return to those former hobbies into now. For now, i been up to learn esoteric level of college books for a degree.
Oh, did you? That's pretty cool. Little did I know. Same here, and wow pretty much the same year, 2009 to 2010. The tournaments were at my 6th grade school chess club, but perhaps the tournaments you did took place outside of school.
Heroclix, huh? That seems like an interesting game. Yeah, with people and chess, and I guess with pretty much all other interests, they seem to be prevalent one year then fade out the next.
And nice that school has kept you busy. Whatever you're learning is definitely something to build up.

Wow, this is such a lovely comment. Thank you so much. Yes, everything you said is so true. It is sometimes good to lose and allows us to bounce back stronger. Yeah, losing gives you an opportunity to rethink things and reach that next step.
Aw, thanks. Yes, he's gonna move on, get some rest and gather what he needs for the rematch.

My dad views a lot of things as a chess game, he plans like a chess player.
He played a lot of chess, even has a neat chess set sitting in his room.
I need to play some chess sometime again tbh. Complicated but interesting game.

Anyways, wonderful piece Reptu! Even if you- or- (Are you still considered Reptu or Spinewave now? Confused <_>)
Even if Reptu lost, it can be a learning experience ^^

I never knew that about your dad. That's pretty cool.
Wow, that's awesome. It's nice to know of people who are so invested in the game.
Yeah, that'll fun if you play the game again. But, it's okay if you don't. Indeed, it is complicated and interesting. So much to learn and so many combinations.
---
Hey, thanks, Ghosty! Yes, you can still call me Reptu. And call Spinewave works as well. I'll have to see in the future how much I like the idea of having two scalesonas, but I'll always have Reptu as one at least.
Yes, well said.^^ Yeah, that's the good thing about losing, because it shows there's more to learn, more to do. Winning every single time can be depressing because there's nothing more to do.

Now you know. Tbh i may be a badass god in combat... but, i suck at chess. Put me infront of a broken car. Give me an unlimited budget. And all the time... i will make it not only working but it will become a beast under the hood, reinforced throughout and absolutly solid quality. As long as its not welding...... i am ultra cautious about the battles i choose though. I have been in your shoes.
Yep, you're right. I was glad to make this piece, because I know you wanted to know who won. Hehe, yes. It was a half lie. At the time, I didn't know if I was going to make this continuation or not. At first, I wasn't because it seemed way to difficult and unmotivating, but I did it, and it felt good.
Oh hey, thanks, CTNT ^^
