This was a lesson in drawing fatigue. I started on the left and drew toward the right and I can see it manifesting as I went. I should have stopped for a while and came back to it fresh, later, but I was trying to squeeze it in and keep my schedule on other things. Therefor, I have mixed feelings about how this came out.
Any resemblance to existing characters somewhere else is not even close to coincidental.

I love your shading and the shinies in the hair and... other shiny things. :P
if it's any consolation I don't really see the fatigue.
The rest look quite lovely. The subtle shine on the dress of the far-right girl looks great.
.... read the MLP fanfic called "Cupcakes". you'll find your description of Pinkie Pie a bit more believable LOL
also... late post is late
OH YEAH RAINBOWDASH AHHHHH!
Now imagine Naylor drawing Trixie.
Harsh as this may sound, I only mean it as constructive criticism. I love your work in general, but the furry stuff far more than the human stuff, for the reasons mentioned above.
But face variety is a valid point.
Oh, right. From your Twitter.

Applejack and Rarity would be tall, and twilight moon and Pinky Pie would be average heights. That's my guess. :)
The amazing thing is, before I listened to it I knew you were the thought provoking and analytical type of conversationalist. Even the character you drew to be as an icon here on FA matches that, and to an even greater extent your voice is exactly fitting for that character. Which is where my point comes in..
With all the artists out there, your the one I enjoy the most because each character you create you build an underlying background story, or a background story has already been setup in your previous pieces that helps us identify and relate in our minds with your characters.
"Any resemblance to existing characters somewhere else is not even close to coincidental. "
In that case, the one on the right with the curly hair and the balloon in her hand does not coincidentally resemble my favorite favorite character from something that doesnt resemble that group of girls.
I love this btw.
derp
This is awesome. :)
It's definitely among the cuter memes I've seen so far, so I'm not going to complain!
They're just really popular.. >.>
<w<
*coughs*
I absolutely love it and your human work has been improving steadily over the last year or so.
Wickedly done drawing.
I like the way you incorporated their Cutie-Marks into their designs.
The lighting on it makes it look blueish.
Well that certainly makes more sense. Either way, I like it
She's based on this character: http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/_...../f5/Rarity.jpg (sorry in advance if the link doesn't work.. just something I pulled off google. >.>)
OH GOD ITS EVERYWHERE
He states explicitly that this has NOTHING TO DO with existing characters!!!
I was going to say that 3 of the character resembled one of your current casting, but as you stated before.
Pinkies show like fatish muscular,
flutters show with too little detail compared to the rest of the image and they are angled slightly weird. For human proportians. Also Her right arm is slight too long for the proportions. It looks like it should fall a little more on the visible side with the hand.
YOU ROCK! :D
That being said, I'm loving it, Rainbow Dash is my favorite from the show and you captured her perfectly. I'm liking the goth look for Twilight Sparkle, and is it me or does the outfit and hairstyle combination that Rarity sports here make her resemble Felicia from Darkstalkers a little bit? Applejack looks very dead on, as does Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie.
This artwork is amazing, though my curious mind wonders how they would look in anthro pony form in your art style. Thank you Jay, keep up the good work! :3
MY LITTLE PONY!! XDDDD
As Rarity is my favorite, I thank you for drawing her in a classy dress, but with such a nice perky ass.
Nice show
nice though, probably mentioned but they all look related a little and not just due to them being inspired by MLP. the one on the left looks most unique IMHO (probably 'cause she (he?) isn't facing us though)
DO you have "Any Plans" on making a comic of them? your very first franchise related comic?
:)
Never thought in a million years you would do something like this.
Then again...
Don't answer that.
Your rendition of Twilight and Rainbow Dash is fantastic.
That said, I notice you still have trouble with hands and feet. Why is it so elusive to you?
Also, DAMN those hairstyles.
One thing about this show is that it sets up families; while excluding parents. Since I didn't watch the original series, unless forced to, I can't remember if it did that.
For some reason, I can see some of your characters in this piece. Because of the blond hair, I can definitely see Mary Ann in Applejack. Twilight reminds me of Beth, probably because she looks kind of gothy in all that black. Rainbow Dash would probably be best represented by Janie since they're both so competitive and hate losing. And since they're both so happy most of the time, Pinkie Pie reminds me of Jessica. But in this picture, Pinkie Pie's smile looks kind of forced. It may be the eyes, the placement of the eyebrows, or that straight smile. I just don't know what's throwing it off for me.
The touch of class you gave Rarity is nice. I get the impression you envisioned her as a member of high society. And Fluttershy looks quite nice. She's one of my favorites probably because of her calm nature. The only thing that's off to me is the rabbit's posture. It looks a little tense.
Extrapolation is valid. :P
That and wearing a skirt...
Ah well, either way, this is really well done. I like!
Anyway, aside from pinky looking psycho, they all look like I'd imagine. :)
same boob size everywhere
rainbow dash needs to be about 20% cooler
...I'll go to the corner now.
I think Rarity's dress is less detailed. I'm not an artist, though, so I'm only guessing.
