This was a lesson in drawing fatigue. I started on the left and drew toward the right and I can see it manifesting as I went. I should have stopped for a while and came back to it fresh, later, but I was trying to squeeze it in and keep my schedule on other things. Therefor, I have mixed feelings about how this came out.

Yeah, that redhead is scaring the shit out of me. It's kinda like one of those psychos from a slasher film. I mean this in as nice a way as possible. I agree, though, that you did well until the end. They would've looked drop-dead tired, and they're fairly lively. Keep up thegood work, though! Also; phaenix , Jay was trying to show fatigue, so it's better if you could see it. I don't mean to sound like a jackass if I do, but your comment sounded like you were a little confused, and I wanted to try to help.
No offense, Jay, but unless that is your intention, I think you need to work a bit on your variety when it comes to human female faces. They all look like the same chubby-faced Mary Anne. I originally saw this work as a sketch on your sketch blog and I thought to myself, "Oh, it's Mary Anne in various hair styles and costumes," because I genuinely couldn't tell that they were supposed to be different girls.
And the fingers/calves/feet need definition work/practice, unless it's your intention to make your characters look like chubby-fingered chibis.
Harsh as this may sound, I only mean it as constructive criticism. I love your work in general, but the furry stuff far more than the human stuff, for the reasons mentioned above.

Oh. Then where did I see--?
Oh, right. From your Twitter.

I truly love how effortlessly it seems your able to draw and flesh out characters so vividly. I certainly know I've a long ways to go in developing my own skills and abilities. And I recently listened to your second cast, and how you talked about various people leaving useless comments and such, and then you went to answer some questions about characters, and possible stories ect...
The amazing thing is, before I listened to it I knew you were the thought provoking and analytical type of conversationalist. Even the character you drew to be as an icon here on FA matches that, and to an even greater extent your voice is exactly fitting for that character. Which is where my point comes in..
With all the artists out there, your the one I enjoy the most because each character you create you build an underlying background story, or a background story has already been setup in your previous pieces that helps us identify and relate in our minds with your characters.

In that case, the one on the right with the curly hair and the balloon in her hand does not coincidentally resemble my favorite favorite character from something that doesnt resemble that group of girls.
I love this btw.
Yeah.
She's based on this character: http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/_...../f5/Rarity.jpg (sorry in advance if the link doesn't work.. just something I pulled off google. >.>)

Yay MLP. =) I love the colouring on this. I do agree about varying facial features, but since you don't draw humans that much it's not really a concern. Unless you want to start drawing humans more, then I'd encourage you to add variety in female, and male, faces and features. =)
I see a few mistakes in pinkiepies calfs and fluttershys feet.
Pinkies show like fatish muscular,
flutters show with too little detail compared to the rest of the image and they are angled slightly weird. For human proportians. Also Her right arm is slight too long for the proportions. It looks like it should fall a little more on the visible side with the hand.

This is awesome, sir, though I felt this coming, judging by what you and a few others have been tweeting about as of late. XD
That being said, I'm loving it, Rainbow Dash is my favorite from the show and you captured her perfectly. I'm liking the goth look for Twilight Sparkle, and is it me or does the outfit and hairstyle combination that Rarity sports here make her resemble Felicia from Darkstalkers a little bit? Applejack looks very dead on, as does Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie.
This artwork is amazing, though my curious mind wonders how they would look in anthro pony form in your art style. Thank you Jay, keep up the good work! :3

Even you cannot escape the magic of friendship.
One thing about this show is that it sets up families; while excluding parents. Since I didn't watch the original series, unless forced to, I can't remember if it did that.
For some reason, I can see some of your characters in this piece. Because of the blond hair, I can definitely see Mary Ann in Applejack. Twilight reminds me of Beth, probably because she looks kind of gothy in all that black. Rainbow Dash would probably be best represented by Janie since they're both so competitive and hate losing. And since they're both so happy most of the time, Pinkie Pie reminds me of Jessica. But in this picture, Pinkie Pie's smile looks kind of forced. It may be the eyes, the placement of the eyebrows, or that straight smile. I just don't know what's throwing it off for me.
The touch of class you gave Rarity is nice. I get the impression you envisioned her as a member of high society. And Fluttershy looks quite nice. She's one of my favorites probably because of her calm nature. The only thing that's off to me is the rabbit's posture. It looks a little tense.
