For Valentine's day I did some breakfast in bed for my mate... my "Original" intent was to shape croissants into flowers and fill them with eggs. I had oven safe crocs that I shaped the dough around and baked... I librally lubed them too... But despite all that, the dough sticked something fierce... And in the process of removing I lost the shape a good bit on them.
SO, they became little boats instead... that works, right?
The filling is simply some scrambled eggs that I added green onion, cheese, Paprika, and a little roasted red pepper. Bacon cooked and served, everything is better with bacon, right?
Speaking on scrambled eggs... they are wonderfully easy to make, and downright tasty. The way I do them normally is... start with a little butter (Or oil if you prefer) in the pan, add in any mix-ins you want (Like white or yellow onion, peppers, chopped mushrooms) just make sure they are fairly small. Saute a few minutes. While that's cooking mix together a couple of eggs with about a half a tbsp of milk per egg. If you want creamier go ahead and add a whole Tbsp or a little more... Don't do to much though or you'll have a gooey mess and not moist and fluffy scrambled eggs. Mix eggs onto hot pan, keep them moving with a heat safe spatula until they are still a little wet. Remove from heat and mix a little more then plate. They should be just about all set at that point. If they look done in the pan they'll be overdone by the time they get to your plate. Myself, I like moist and soft scrambled eggs.
Mix in cheese at the end if you like.
Bacon is about 10 minutes (Or to the doneness you like) in a 400 degree oven. Make sure you remove the bacon to a paper towel or draining rack shortly after removing from the oven, if allowed to sit and cool it'll usually adhere to the pan.
Enjoy breakfast!
