Been slingbrained generally speaking as of recent and so you bet I am gonna carry that energy out to talk a bit about some drekir slinging styles. At least two that I see as reasonably common amongst a wide degree of drekir societies. As drekir do have some challenges ergonomically.
Short arms, built like coffee tables, etc. So for drekir their slinging styles reflect that anatomy. A lot of styles require the head to be lowered to some agree just to make space for the sling to do it's thing for example. But even with the differences a lot of drekir slinging styles can tentatively be classified in similar ways to our own. After all they do have two shoulder that, while not necessarily as nicely placed as human shoulders, offer some of the same range of movement.
so for these two
"Byzantine" Is a family of styles that are sort of like the familiar slinging posture we know, but with just one quick rotation over the neck and back before releasing. With the drek employing as much footwork as needed to generate a rapid shift of weight that, like with humans, generates energy. Its a very fast style that generates a lot of power easily and works well with long slings!
Figure 8 Is a weird style that involves bringing the sling high on the throwing side, to allow it to swoop down and across the small of the back on the other side into an overhead throw. A bit more intricate but allows for some very nice accuracy and very good power! Similar as in all cases, a lot of footwork is used to help generate extra energy for a throw
Enjoy! or not, all is fair
