In the US, passenger trafic by rail is much lower than by plane for the same distance due to limited average speed and frequent delays. Some of these problems are due to the fact than freight transport have priority over passenger transport on most railway networks.
This situation led me to quip that passengers would go faster riding freight trains like the hobos of old... But then I started to imagine how to create transport pods fitting within the dimensions of ISO shipping containers. This would allow to quickly assemble a transport network based on existing prime movers, a bit like the Cuban 'camel' buses.

L'idée est certes très ingénieuse et intéressante, mais totalement irréaliste, à moins que les Etats-Unis ne redescendent au niveau d'un pays du quart-monde. Ne serait-ce déjà à cause de toutes les contraintes bloquantes liées à la sécurité des passagers (même les pays du tiers-monde ont maintenant de bien plus hautes exigences en la matière).
Il est important de noter que ces modules ne sont pas des containers ISO convertis, mais des constructions neuves ayant les dimensions extérieures et les fixations de containers ISO. Cela permet d'avoir une structure murale résistante aux impacts et un aménagement intérieur modulaire.
