Two points on that. One, my story has a different history than the show. Given the fact they are the leaders, figured Queen was more suitable. Second, even Lauren Faust pointed out that she was going to have them as Queens, but Hasbro wanted them as Princesses, because they were more friendly to little girls, thanks to Disney's thing about Princesses, and how Queens are often evil.
Also it's a Queendom. A term I picked up from Lookglass Wars. Dragon lands are Kingdom. Griffin are an Empire. So far, what I have, for major countries.

Well mine is Harmony Spirit. He is mentioned, and pops up now and then. Star Shadows, get's mentioned, but don't really show him. His story was originally a separate thing, I had started a comic, but just never finished it.
His story changed a lot from my original idea. I had the idea after episode 1, but when Nightmare Moon was gone after 2, I figured he wouldn't work as one who follows as her minions in her return. So I turned him into a "replacement" for Luna, in the early age when she was gone.
