Blue and Gold macaw. Very good pets ( besides knowing a lot about Army vehicles, I know a lot about macaws sadly ) Parents have had 50+ birds in the house for 20+ years. Why I joined the Army at 17, to get out of the house. They get very very loud.

They live a long time as well. If you buy a baby, you will end up giving it to your grand kids if taken care of properly.

You can get them for about $800 to about $1,500, but you want one that has been hand fed and raised up around people. That way they have a nicer disposition and won't tend to bite.

If you do decide to get one, just ask if you have questions. If i can't answer them, my parents can. They know vets, breeders etc...,but before you even consider getting one, find out if you have a local vet who will treat Macaws/ specializes in treating them, clipping nails, and wings.
