Ben the mewtwo was abandoned at birth presumably due to lacking a mewtwos signature attribute a second neck often theorized to amplify their psychic powers though results from studies are inconclusive about that. Doctors speculate that due to the second neck being a remnant of a time long past when mews were genetically enhanced to be better soldiers in an old war that being born in a relative time of peace could've resulted in removing the second neck as genetics resemble mew much closer than other mewtwo and can also explain the ability to use transform which mewtwos are incapable of using. Due to Ben's Legendary genetics he ages much slower than other species,looking like he's in his early 20s despite being in his mid 30s

Ben was relatively insecure of who he was in his young age often using his shape shifting abilities to fit in with others due to various stereotypes about his species being cold hearted,manipulative,and evil but eventually many caught on to his shape-shifting thus affirming some of those assumptions despite him not wanting to hurt anyone and wanting not to be alone. Having worked on himself for several years owning up to past mistakes and making amends he no longer hides who he is and instead constantly works to give mewtwos everywhere a better reputation
