so this is another religion computer art piece.
Taoism is essentially all about the balance of opposing forces in the universe, and when these forces are balanced there is peace. If there is too much of one or the other there is chaos. The Yin Yang is a Taoist symbol that represents this concept of balance, however nothing in the world is pure, this is represented by the contrasting dots. The white portion is Yang, which is positive energy and the black portion is Yin which represents negative energy. The backwards 'S' shaped curve represents change, which in Taoism is ironically the only absolute. That is the only thing for certain, that things will change. The symbol in the middle is the Chinese character for "Tao" which is roughly translated to "Path" or "Way", and yes Taoism is originally Chinese. There are many traditions and practices associated with Taoism, which are intended to understand and interpret the energy of the universe in order to keep opposing forces balanced and have peace.
These Include:
Astrology (Chinese Zodiac) - To understand relationships between people
Fortune Telling (I-Ching) - circular coins with square holes in the center used to tell fortunes
Feng Shui - manipulating your living space to balance the energies
Tai Chi - calm, fluid exercises to balance the energies within your body
If anyone knows anything about Taoism or feels I made a mistake or something, feel free to correct me or inform me of more of the concepts of Taoism
