Quimrom Alovera Chaco
Quite obviously a chinchilla.
This is not an overweight character, that is all fur. Credit needs to go to my wife for creating this idea. Chinchillas are so fluffy they seem nearly spherical. So we decided to play with this in an anthropomorphic character. So the fluffyness is cranked up as far as it could be taken without it actually becoming a disability for her.
While she may technically be nude in this drawing feel like it is still in the SFW category. In fact how clothing is going to work is an economics challenge to be considered.
When drawing her there was a promotional bace that I sketched out before adding all that floof. The way it makes her arms look so small was unexpected. Not something that really happens with heavier set characters but the fluff ball effect makes them look so small. Included is a side drawing which illustrates how much of her is hair.
Chinchillas are also not ever to be submerged in water as it will damage their fur causing it to clump and fall out. The logistics of avoiding water and dust bathing in the home are amusing subjects to adress.
I would very much like to make further explorations of the chinchilla challenges she would have to face. However how much time I can devote to these ideas will really depend on how much interest there is for it.
When viewing here from the back my wife said she looked like the letter Q. A possible nickname that should stick to her.

A Chinchilla does look really great with your style, just all the lifework here is really good.
I think she would still be a chubby character because parts of her fur look like they are affected by gravity and weight, especially with the belly and the face. If Q's body was that much fluff, then wouldn't it be less shapely?

I had thought about that, the lines I used were placed by imagining articulating areas that might cause it to part or bunch up. Those did line up with adipose folds in some cases but not others. I also think it would have some sag to it with there being so much. Sort of like a pompom. This is a first run at the idea so it will need some more work as it goes.
I like the points you came up with.

An interesting design challenge!
Thinking about how long each hair in what area of the body is and their orientation would be hard. I agree with FlexibleBear that your use of some of the harder lines where the hair would press together gives a greater sense of weight and flesh over hair. Again, not an easy thing to work through and I'll be interested to see how you work to solve the puzzle of depicing to much airy fur.
