It's insane how long people have to wait. I've been on the waiting list for over a month now and just got a key because I randomly asked on Mastodon and a stranger just happened to have one.
It's also mindboggling how people instantly show their greed, I'm seeing some guys selling their keys for up to 100$.
I don't know when I'll get any spare ones, I hope it's soon so I can invite people :x

I know, I was turned off by how "cliquey" it all seems right now. The app itself seems nice, but I just hope it can be fully open to the public soon. I want everyone to be able to use it without feeling like they need to be part of the "in" crowd. I understand that the developers need to scale out slowly and at a pace they can handle, but in the meantime, many will be feeling left out or even abandoned. I suppose the Twitter ship sank faster than expected...

Oh, I absolutely get what you mean. It also felt like the "bigger" accounts got in first, simply because of their connections and/or parasocial relationships. It was odd. Like you said, I understand that the devs can't just open the floodgates and expect the dam to hold, but eh. There's also a lot of features I'm still missing... like DMs, for example. x) But I'm all for watching the platform and community grow.
