Been about half a year, so time for another update!
I did slam on the breaks with character creation back in May (I'll let myself get back to it later this year, but was on track for one character per month so figured I should XD), but still needed to get them into the diagram.
Will admit I was actually surprised I managed to sneak in a-few more characters and relations into this! But I'm definitely reaching the limits on what I can fit into this ^^;
Honestly not sure what to use next as I don't think there will be a way to put everyone on the same single chart anymore.
New Additions :
- Quiri: A character who had technically been in development for over a year, I finally got around to finishing her up early this year! A Charr who ended up getting struck by a massive amount of Deific energy sent out into the universe when Kyra made an attempt to divest herself of all of her divinity. Of course, that attempt didn't work, but all that energy did eventually happen across Quiri's world and impart on her a less potent version of Kyra's worship/thanks/adoration/attention based growth. She's very isolated, though, and I'm debating on ways to possibly give her more links to the rest of my cast, but not sure how yet.
- Olsea : An adopt I picked up from
foxfencer earlier this year who I decided to throw into the Demideity Tier as that Tier was feeling rather sparse. She's an ancient deity that's been around nearly as long as Viktoria and runs what is essentially the "Divine OSHA" of the Ynaaverse. Sometimes even make use of her impressive figure to test how well those being tested are able to stay on task and not be distracted by her~
- Verdena : Now this is a character who's got an unusual backstory and then some... She's actually from both the future and a different canon/existence. If you've seen Olivaria, Verdena is the daughter of her and Benock over in that Trainerverse existence/canon and is also time displaced in that she hasn't actually been born yet and was sent back in time a-little over 40 years as a way to help alleviate an issue in the future where there were the absurdly big bigs were getting too big and numerous, awkwardly making her older than either of her parents (something she much enjoys teasing them about). In the present, she met Laalouche (Ynaa's son) in one of his canon-hopping visits to the Trainerverse and the two ended up becoming good friends and fell deeply for each other. So now Verdena joins Laalouche in his canon-hopping between the two 'verses (Ynaa, Laalouche, and Verdena are the only ones capable of that on my cast) and is also now a common presence in the Ynaaverse as she continues her own journey so similar to Laalouche's of trying to decide who and what she wants to be.
There are also a-few more characters technically in the works, but who I'm trying to avoid the temptation to take to full completion until later in the year. Two of whom are connected to that slowly developing branch with Axelia of characters not native to that world where so much of my cast comes from.
- NOODL : The AI assistant running the computers and systems on Axelia's starship that Axelia accidentally gave full sentience to when she was trying to change the sound of her wake up alarm (Axelia's BAD with software). Ynaa offered to create for NOODL a physical body for if she ever wanted to enter the physical world and now Axelia's no longer alone all the time on her ship.
- Ancient Retired Goddess of Innovation : A Walking Wake character that I've already got a-lot of really fun ideas for and who's going to be good friends with both Ynaa and Axelia and a contemporary of Iridalea's. Also have ideas of how she found one of the Shards of Iridalea's sword and affixed it to her "crown" which has encouraged her to possibly come out of retirement someday. Even have thoughts on her appearance too (Purah's fashion from TotK coming to mind a-lot...)
- Skögul's Mom : I've got some very rough ideas for both in personality and appearance, but still very early in development
- Space Age Rito and Zonai : Only really have rough ideas here, but wanting to come up with at least a character each for the two species and figure out a way to retain the feel of both but with a futuristic spin. Part of expanding the Ynaaverse to include more than just Pokemon (the new branch that Axelia, Quiri, Viktoria, and Iridalea represent)
New Relations :
- Biggest update is that Iridalea has now moved up to the Deity Tier with Ynaa, Kthaarae, and Kyth!
-- This Tier is for those who have managed to reach post-universal scales and with all these new Demideities, Deities, and Nephilim showing up and growing and "defying their fates", Iridalea has grown massively in power and influence after being a minor Demideity for countless millennia and this makes it official that she finally ascended to that rarely achieved Tier ^^
- Verdena linked to Laalouche, Ynaa, and Benock/Benna. Verdena's a new addition and is daughter-in-law to Ynaa, married to Laalouche, and the daughter of Benock/Benna even if from a different existence/canon.
- Quiri linked to Kyra as Kyra is the reason why Quiri is now technically on the same Tier as Kyra and Ame are with unknown limits.
-- Technically also linked to Ynaa as Ynaa showed up to give her the "So you've suddenly ascended and are very confused" primer, but getting to have too many lines now XD
- Olsea linked to the "Ancient Acquaintances" group of other Demideities
- Ame and Kyra have been updated to married as I feel it's been long enough that Kyra could no longer deny to herself that she has feelings for Ame and they made it official.
- Reconsidered Yaddle and Iridalea with their "Bonded over swords" and instead linked Yaddle to the Trorse/Morvala/Skögul "Old traveling friends" group as that feels like it works much better for Yaddle's backstory.
- Decided to color code some of the relationship lines to help show the family connections as the number of those has grown over the years.
Future Thoughts :
Will say again this diagram is definitely reaching a point where it's getting very difficult to update and add new characters to. So many characters along with so many relationships across Tiers is making it increasingly difficult to have enough space for both lines and text describing the connections. The trouble is that I'm not entirely sure what to do to fix this...
- Separate diagrams for each tier?
-- There's a large number of cross-tier connections and some characters in some tiers don't have any connections with anyone else in their tier.
- Family groups and/or rough groups based on history?
-- Could potentially work and add some to the lore understanding. The group that works/worked at the company Benock is at could be one of the rough groups, for example. But again have the issue of the connections between groups.
- Different "layers" to the diagram?
-- Different layers as in only showing family relations/friendships/professional relationships/acquaintances/etc... Trouble there is that there'll then be lots of diagrams c.c''
- One diagram per character?
-- Could use this if I take that approach of creating a wiki or pdf document, but likely wouldn't post them all individually and loses this nice full cast overview.
I might still keep using this diagram in the future and just remove the relations lines so that there's still a single whole-cast overview? But for the relations between everyone I really do think I need to figure out a cleaner solution.
Mortals are just what they sound like and have a maximum height of around 50 feet. While Ame is still technically mortal, she's unknowingly growing stronger over time thanks to her link and close relationship with Kyra, so in the end there's really only two in there.
- Ame (for now)
- Axelia (able to temporarily achieve Demideity tier scales of size and power, but only by using the Shard implanted in her tool)
- Benock
- Benna
- Morvala
- Nichaalas
- Proteanne
- Rhea
- Skögul (even though she's able to temporarily achieve sizes and levels of power comparable to the Demideity tier)
- Yaddle
Nephilim I was looking for another word to describe the macros that are between that 50 foot to mountainous range and wanted to try for something a-bit different and remembered that the Nephilim were beings or people described as large and strong and loosely translated as giants in some translations. There's a-lot more on the subject, but long and short of it is that Nephilim rather nicely covers this spot of extremely large and powerful individuals who are, despite that size and power, not actually divine.
- Argenvira
- Avy
- Claudia
- Lut
- Lyn
- Puszeky
- Rivenae
- Rowanne
- Vilanna
Demigoddess are those who are sort-of a lower level of divinity. Extremely large and powerful to the point that they are considered divine and either represent or held sway over a certain domain or concept. They may be referred to as "Goddess of Stuff" but they are not full blown goddesses without limits.
- Jut, Goddess of Ebb and Flows
- Laalouche, the Undecided Deity
- Lahr, God of All Trades
- Niikalei, Goddess of Alchemy
- Olsea, Head of Divine OSHA
- Quirinalis, Goddess of Security, Duty, and Irony
- Trorse, Goddess of Chaos/Variability/Change/Mischief (on Tuesdays)/Great Ass (her words)
- Verdena, the Anomaly (still debating)
- Viktoria, Goddess of Order
Goddesses are those who are technically at the highest tier of divinity in my cast, but are still limited. Whether that limit is self-imposed or something that they need to overcome, it is something that holds them back. For example, Kyth is trying to hold back her steadily increasing power because it makes it harder and harder to stay small. Kthaarae is focused on trying to get below her base size. Kyra just doesn't want to be a goddess. Also befitting their higher stature and greater power, they either have larer or more domains than the Demigoddesses
- Iridalea, Goddess of Defiant Fates, Determination, and Triumph
- Kthaarae, Goddess of Caution, Conscientiousness, and Failure
- Kyra, Goddess ofredacted (she doesn't want anyone to know)
- Kyth, Goddess of HUGS
The Boundless is just Ynaa. Whereas the other Goddesses have largely self-imposed limits on what they can do and become, Ynaa recognizes that she actually doesn't have any limits and is constantly pushing herself further and harder. Learning more. Becoming more. As appropriate for the embodiment of Ambition and Innovation. But even as she becomes more and multimanifests to absurd degrees, she still clings to who she is. Clings to always remaining the same Ynaa she always has been. Just more now.
Finally while I haven't decided a truly finalize name yet, a very recent development is that Skögul may now be a new Tier of her own like Ynaa is "The Boundless". Skögul is a mortal with ability and strength and size to match any Demideity and has the potential in her to continue pushing herself to where the only one who is larger and more powerful than her is Ynaa. Thinking "Potential Incarnate" as a possible name...

And grown and grown and grown and it's just going to keep growing ^^
Yeah hate to lose the "one stop here's everyone!" chart that this has, but this is getting ever harder to manage XD
Although... I could try the strategy of just drastically increasing the size of the chart so there's more space between each portrait like a Miro board... Would be more difficult to see just at a quick glance, but would be able to zoom in for the details.
