Found a pic of this wild collection of grain elevators, and couldnt resist doing a painting of them. Kinda regret not making the person a furry, but whatever, maybe next time

The detail in the buildings is somehow both realistic and impressionistic, and the cars parked on the street can be a nice period detail in some of them. It's not just a static image of a school, a factory or a street; there's a sense of life going on in them that makes them feel warm and familiar. Furry or not, the fellow riding his bike past this scene is a perfect example.
There's not a flag in sight, and yet, this, to me, is a classically American image.

Grain elevators. They were a staple to having a strong workforce and how food is produced and stuff. The state I live in is what ranks #1 in supplying food for the planet. We would even see them when driving through rural areas of the country that have businesses here and there.
