I don't see how you're supposed to fire this in such a way that the hot plasma from the cylinder gap doesn't shred your forearm. The fact you'd have a loaded firearm pointing in every conceivable direction while using this as a melee weapon is probably the least of your worries.
I'm going to give the designer the benefit of the doubt and assume they're either 15 or just don't know anything about guns.

Well I doubt a gun like this is usable at all. It shouldn't randomly go off though, since if you use the tonfa on its own, you are not really able to pull the trigger and also the grip safety at once.
It doesn't shoot conventional rounds either as far as I know. Point is, the weapon would work, if it's effective is another question xD
I wouldn't have made this weapon a revolver if this was my choice. But I made it as usable as possible with the requirements I got.
