Ella (Matriarch): The only currently surviving ruling council member from the Venmare enclave's founding era, Ella was a clear pick for Matriarch status due to her quick wit and wily attitude, traits that -- combined with her signature verbal coarseness -- led to many important initiatives being quickly enacted from the moment of her instatement onward. She's getting on in years and knows it, but it hasn't stopped her from continuing to provide the entire enclave her guidance and compassion in equal measure.

You did a really good job of getting across the "older" idea. The lines under the eyes, the hands, the way the fur lies, it really comes across well. ^_^
I'm glad she's compassionate, the Enclave could be in for a pretty rough time if it had a heartless and ruthless Matriarch. Sounds like she's been doing a pretty good job!

Aw, thanks! I'm a little new to drawing older characters, it means a lot to hear that sort of thing comes across.
Compassion comes with the job title; any Matriarch who performs actions without it is likely there for the wrong reasons. Venmare's enclave has a pretty good one, all things considered
