She was born in one of the many lesser Loranor tribes in wilderness of Aldehydi, her prowess as a warrior and a raider quickly landing her a position by the side of their chieftain as one of his concubines. This period of her life ended barely season after it started, when most of the warriors and the leader himself left to deal with enemies encroaching on their territory, reported by their scouts, leaving Zoriah and handful of females as defenders. Unknowingly to them, it was but a ploy to draw the bulk of their forces away from the village, while the actual enemies, working hand in hand with slavers, dropped on their village to rob and capture everything and everyone before the main bulk of their warriors would return. The fighting was brutal and quick, weak and old were slaughtered mercilessly, while strong ones like Zoriah were isolated and worn out, before getting tied up and thrown into one of the cages on the slavers' carts. Their houses were cleaned of any valuables and stockpiles, and then put to a torch.
Despite acting fast, it was soon proven that their enemies were not fast enough. Their warriors managed to quickly gain on the set distraction and noticing the meager numbers of the group, instead of trying to figure out whether it was an ambush or a mistake, the chieftain ordered immediate return to the village. Catching the hostile party still busy with total destruction, they thrown themselves into another round of ruthless combat, releasing the captives. Utilizing confusion the warriors of enemy tribe grabbed their loot and fled, leaving the slavers to be killed to the last man as they tried to stand their ground. At the end of the day, only handful of Zoriah's tribe was left standing, their chieftain dead and their village in ruins. They gathered the water, food and valuables found on the slavers and shared it between themselves. Some warriors left then and there, hoping to find another tribe that would welcome them, or to try and survive alone in the wild, but many left by despairing Zoriah.
At first, she formed a band with revenge in mind. They'd prey on slavers and smaller raiding parties, waiting for them to be tired and fat with loot and captives. Zoriah soon prove that she might been called Brighteye, but she was no bright soul, prisoners that swore fealty to her were allowed to join her band, but those that defied her were sold as slaves without remorse. Her group grew and became a noticable nuissance, but whenever someone gather troop to face her, she'd run deeper into Aldehydi, forcing her pursuers to drop her tracks in fear of retaliation from local tribes. In the third year of their activity, any appearances of a righteous cause they had were dropped. Feeling confident in her gathered warriors she marched on the tribe that wronged her just to find it already ravaged and broken by drought and raids, only handful of souls living in desolate settlement. Many of her loyal men and women left then, seeing no more reason to keep going, but at this point her band already became infamous and Zoriah showed no signs of stopping. For every warrior that left, a dishonoured one, or an outcast came looking for an opportunity to prove themself.
Zoriah encroached onto human territories to act with her band as common brigands, they'd rob caravans, kidnap people for ransom, terrorize smaller settlements for food and even become hitmen for hire, as they'd wait in ambush for travelers marked by their clients. In those days little Azibal would be born to her lieutenant, who later abandoned her band and fled with a merchant they kidnapped. Despite her own and later Azibal's attempts, they never managed to find her. When Azibal grew, she started scheming, creating a racket over Aldehydi and expanding it later, Zoriah's band becoming just another one of her assets.
Azibal's mentor did not die as a bandit should. Once her band started accumulating serious wealth, she grew accustomed to lavish life every season they returned to a den in a city with lax laws and governed by people who did not bat an eye over stolen goods as long as they got their share. Each season it became harder to return into wilderness, hunt for own food and risk own life. At her protegee's request she left her band in capable hands and started travelling with trusted lieutenants to keep eye on many of the Azibal's businesses. On one of such trips she landed in Narivaku, and despite sending her warriors back, she stayed behind. While there she met a mixed, small group of Loranors and Draconians, returning from homelands of former to Draconia itself. Eventually she sent a letter to Azibal that she would be joining them and would not be returning at all, the two exchange correspondence ever since, but did not meet in person again.
