Engines are designed to withstand a bird strike in the engine. Flings it out through the turbo fan section. But a goose.... That is one BIG bird. I had to work on a C-5 transport that ran into a flock of geese just after takeoff. Two engines FOD'd out and the other two engines overheaded at max power. All leading edge parts damaged including the radome. Luckily, the windshield held, not even a crack.
