I think it's a matter of how you think.
I a lot of people think, 'There's no one out there for me.' or 'Why bother looking? It's all just going to go wrong.' Thinking like that almost guarantees that you'll either refuse whoever shows up on the belief that you're meant to be alone, or that you'll sour anything that does start, simply because you don't think it could ever work.
I know it sounds sappy (maybe) but you have to keep your mind open and take chances. The worst thing about trying to find someone for yourself is that it can go either way; you can end up happy or alone... and you HAVE to risk both to have a chance of getting the one you want.

Once I realized that littler lizard was supposed to be Cupid, I totally understood. Yeah, it really does suck being alone and feeling like there isn't a match out there... I've never gotten that damn arrow, either, and sometimes I feel like I'm the only one, at least around my region.

I always knew Cupid would be such an asshole, at times.
I don't know why...but there is something enchanting, in the contrast between the mighty servant of Sobek and the sadness of Kaa.
Something that makes me want to hug you, yet...I'm unsure about how you would take it. I'm sure you'd prefer a real hug, but...unfortunately, I cannot realize that - unless you find a way to bring me to your place for free! *chuckles*
Sobek and Maia won't let their loved child alone for a long time... The wait may be long, it's bound to be hard to bear, but in the end, you'll realize how it didn't matter once you have found the one...Your one.

It always amazes me how many people seem to not understand these things. Life can be harsh at times, but it has its good sides as well.
Love is something you have to deal with in a rather difficult way, as you have to leave yourself open to being hurt to even have a chance at happiness, and most people don't want to, or can't. So they do something that boggles my mind. They say they hate love, or the concept of it, since it's so hard to obtain.
...And this, I think, is why so many people are still looking for someone to care for. They want love, but in their minds, love sucks... it doesn't work... it can't last... and more and more. They kill the chance that anything could ever happen by doubting it to the point of refusing to go all out for what they want and need.
Worse, a lot of people then say they hate that OTHER people are happy and in love! As if no one should be so if they can't be (not pointing at you, Kaa).
I think... once again, only my opinion... that people should stop thinking 'force the little guy to do what you want' or 'Kill him... he's useless anyway' and simply stop thinking about it so much. Look for what you want. BELIEVE in what you want, don't just say it. Stop HATING the concept of being in love, even if it isn't you. Love and hate tend to clash, or to get mixed up in such a way as to ruin both, confusing things to the point where lonliness is the only final option.
Keep an open mind, and an open heart. If someone hurts you, THEN feel free to not like them anymore... but put them in the past, instead of carrying them around as a sign of how lonely you are. Look forward to someone new, or at the very least, trust in the possibility of someone coming into your life. And don't be in such a hurry either. ^^ You don't want to hook up with just anybody, do you? You're looking for your one partner, and there's a hell of a lot of people in the world; it takes a while to find them.
