This was the art in review from 2021, a significant milestone for me and my art. Looking back this was the turning point to when I focused on digital artwork. This was also a year of changing from one chapter to another, hence why Month of OCs was called "Next Chapter" that year. In essence, I have no regrets when it comes to this year with my content and what I both created and commissioned.

AT - Luna On A Fullmoon
-Starting off the list with an Art Trade, and with a character I ended up giving to Azure. I think the shading here is just so damn good here under the moonlit night, and the shading and mood is so good all around. How I did it might be cheating to some, but the end result just leaves this fantastic feel. Honestly, it was the best way art-wise to start off 2021 and it just got better from there.

A Snowy Stroll for the Snow Princess
-I always wanted to do an image of Drake in his Snow Princess form strolling through the park on a snowy night, and it came out great! I did have to download some new brushes but I can't deny the great end result of it. The gown looks great and the shine around the lamp makes me gleeful. But that background, while hard to see in the darkness, just gives off a great feeling to the whole area. I'm especially happy with how the tree came along and while not as hidden as the rest, it still gives a good depth to it all.

AT - Kob'e in an Aquarium
-Oh look, another really good Art Trade! This was with a good friend and constant person I commission, of their merman OC Kob'e. Because both involved being underwater, we agreed he would be in an aquarium. I love how his tail came out, helps that his tail has a great design. The cheeky grin makes me smile. And the hand press against the glass I do really like. Might be weird to say, but before this I haven't done a scenario like it so sometimes the little things I end up enjoying.

TGed Nathan, Nathalie
-Never thought I would do a TGed or Genderbent version of a character again but tada! So the idea stuck in my head that his pearl would malfunction and make him into a her. The hair, the bra, the lipstick, all of it stuck in my mind and lead to this. I think the best part of the piece is the shellbras. Not just it feels like they're pressing against the breasts, but also because of how good that shine is! Might see more of her in the future like the great picture VainBanana2 did for her human form, but for now, this is a good picture!

- Sadly due to how busy I got, with wrapping out college and finishing the capstone project, there was no way I could work on an art piece for this month. It sucks because I also really wanted to do something for MerMay but sometimes sacrifices have to be made to make it to the end.

COMM - Trio's First Swim
-I think this was my only commission this year, and looking back that is a sad yes for being the only comm someone have me do this year. Either way, Bobo asked me to do an image of 3 of his characters as mermaids and I gladly took up the challenge! I do love how I was able to capture their personality separately from each other. The shine and lighting was a big joy to me and I was so happy with the end product. Maybe I'll get another one or a few before they eventually close.

Wedding Day (Month of OCs 2021)
-This was an idea I've had for years, something I always wanted to get around to, but ended up not doing until the Month of OCs 2021. With the theme of "Next Chapter," I thought it was a perfect time to do the image. And I am SO JOYFUL with how it came out. With the glow and the shine, to actually making an interior background. And of course, the gown, it came out so well! I tried to make it a prequel to Michiko's Magical Bridal gown and I think it came out well while being her own thing. With one of the bucket list, 2021 wasn't as horrible as I was worried it was going to be around March.

Edaine's Wind Magic (Art Raffle Prize)
-For Month of OCs, I decide to do an Art Raffle to do something different and it was alright. Got 3 of those done but might not ever do those again. Hoping next Month of OCs will be better but that'll be for another time. But out of all of August, this was my favorite of everything posted, I think it's because of how I was able to make the hair and dress flow with the wind effects. And while the wind effects I feel are simple, it still helped give off a feeling of the rushing wind she was controlling. Thank you again for participating in the raffle.

Cynthia flying through a Thunderstorm
-This might be my favorite piece of 2021. This is a remake of an old artwork I did back in I want to say 2016 or 2017. I always put it off because I didn't know if it was a good time to do it and this year I got around to it. This is I think the peak of the shading and shine this year as I feel like I did a really damn good job with capturing the soaking wetness coming from the rain. The lighting looked so damn good too! I had to use a tutorial for this one to help me out and BOY did it help so well. Cynthia's expression is so much better than the original piece and just remains a much better version of the past image. Probably should try my hand at more moody pictures in the future if it can turn out this good.

Sakura the sudden Scarecrow
-Wanted to do a few things in October and one of the few things that came to mind quickly was Sakura as a Scarecrow. ...my mind is weird sometimes. So weird that this art piece wasn't posted in some places because of how weird I felt it was. But damn that lighting on the sunset variant was good! Had some help from a few friends with this one while trying to make it match properly and I think it came out amazing. Also, shout out to Sakura's expression.

Wonder Claudia
-I always like to mentally compare Claudia to Wonder Woman because of the story I have in my head for her. Often I don't get around to it or even publishing it but I do enjoy it when it's playing in my mind. Because of this, and because I wanted at least some Cosplay art related to Halloween, I wanted to do Claudia as Wonder Woman, with two variants when it comes to colors. Tho yeah, this piece was delayed because I was much more focused on life and the VTuber project, I'm still happy with how it came out, especially with transforming her vessel into a whip. Really enjoyed this piece tho it would be a while before returning to it.

Secret Santa for Azure
-Between real-life and the Vtuber project, art ended up getting the shortest end of the stick and I did not do much of it. But with a couple of deadlines for the Secret Santa, I had to put my ass in gear and soon completed 2 gifts for people. I wanted to do more but time was not on my side. As a return to art, this is good, not the best this year but I still really enjoyed it. I'm glad the gift was received well tho.

Conclusion:
2021 to many was 2020 part 2, but to me, it was an end of an era. Time changes everything and this year was no different especially near the end. I feel like looking back I've improved a lot, but now it seems like that improvement feels harder to grasp. As mentioned in the Patreon post, I can't do an image a week anymore, and commissions are going to be closed forever soon and most likely this year. But that happens sometimes. I don't think I'll fully give up on doing art tho, as it has defined a good decade of my life at this point. The adult world approaches but I just gotta make sure to hold on with what I've cherished. And after hitting 800 watchers, I'm feeling good about the future, no matter how many dark clouds want to block out the sun.

A Snowy Stroll for the Snow Princess
